Your Perfect Furniture Coffee Tables!
As Decor writers we see it all too often, people questioning which furniture coffee tables they should buy. Here are what we feel are some of the best answers to the questions everyone seems to ask the most.
What shape of a coffee table should I get for my particular setting? The shape is usually determined by function. A few examples of this would be.
1. If your room is long and narrow. You would then want to run your couches and coffee table long ways through the room so as to take advantage of their length to create a more settling and aesthetic feel. You don’t want to place long furniture in a long room going in the opposing direction. It simply won’t flow or feel right and will chop the room into segments. As such you would want to pick out coffee tables that will be a little long and slender to really flow with the shape of the room.
2. If your living room is a square box shape. You could then of course in this instance use a round coffee table and place furniture around it so that you create a warm inviting area that friends feel good about sitting in to have very comfortable conversations. The very nice thing about round furniture coffee tables is that every seat is now the best seat in the house. What we mean by this is if in a conversation everyone is more towards one end and your all the way over on the other end of a rectangle coffee table you don’t usually feel as good about your seat. But with a round table (kind of like King Arthur) everyone has an equal seat which makes for much better gatherings.
3. If you want the couch to straddle a corner then your best bet may likely be to use a square coffee table positioned right in the middle of the couch view from the most highly trafficked area. This will lengthen the perception and create the illusion of a lot more depth in the room. This can also be very good for rooms that are too big and you don’t quite yet have enough furniture to fill it properly.
